Orientation
We’re excited to support you in your transition to the Cougar Family. Our staff are dedicated to assisting you with your orientation, transition, and ultimate attainment of a WSU degree. Orientation will prepare you for your social, academic, and emotional acclimation.
New Student To-Do List
Make sure you’re ready for the semester by completing placement assessments, sending transcripts, confirming vaccination records, and filling out the New Student Information Form. Some steps must be completed before your scheduled advising appointment.
Peer Mentors
Peer mentors serve as orientation leaders then continue working with their assigned student cohorts throughout the fall semester. Their role is to provide guidance, connect students to campus resources and services, and foster meaningful engagement in campus life.

Pre-Advising Requirements
Your Pre-Advising Requirements below must be completed before your scheduled advising appointment. To learn more about each item, click on the titles below.
- Complete Placement Assessments, if necessary. Details and exemptions are included in the modules.
- Send Updated Unofficial Transcripts at least two weeks prior to your advising appointment.
Additional New Student To-Do List – Prior to Start of Classes

- Complete the New Student Information Form.
- Send Final Official Transcripts before the start of classes.
- Send Vaccination Records after you confirm your offer of admission.
New Student Information Form
All new first-year and transfer students need to complete the New Student Information Form. Students will find a link to this form in their  in the Enrollment Checklist section. This form has important information students will need to know prior to starting at ÍøÆسԹÏ.
Placement Assessments
It is important that students who need to take these exams complete them at least two weeks prior to their academic advising appointment, as scores will determine which classes you are eligible to register for with your academic advisor.
ALEKS Math Placement Assessment
Complete the  if you are not transferring in college-level math.
Writing Placement Assessment
Take the  if you plan to enroll in English 101 or an equivalent course.
Send Updated Transcripts
Pre-Advising: Send updated transcripts prior to your scheduled advising appointment or orientation session (whichever comes first) to get the most out of your advising experience. This includes up-to-date grades, AP test scores, and any other college level coursework. These can be .
Pre-Campus Arrival: Make sure that your high school or transfer institution and testing agencies are  and test scores to the WSU Office of Admissions. Students who are in Running Start, High School in the College, or other dual enrollment programs must send transcripts from each college/university providing college-level academic credit.
Send Vaccination Records
WSU students are required to provide documentation of:
- Hepatitis B Vaccine
- Measles (Rubeola), OR MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) Vaccine
- Tdap – tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (Pertussis) Vaccine
- Varicella (chicken pox) Vaccine
- Tuberculosis screening for high-risk populations (Login to your WSUÂ Â to complete the screening)
