History Major Overview

The history program is designed to develop skills in research, problem-solving and critical thinking, writing, communicating, and cultural understanding. ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï faculty specialize in many areas of historical research and teaching, including American west, religious, gender, race and culture, political, military and diplomatic history.

Student Spotlight

First-generation history student Savanna Kresse was honored with several awards during her time at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï including the MLK Distinguished Award and the “Honor Role’ award through the national ALL IN Challenge Awards program, where she was invited to be honored in Washington, D.C. She also served as vice president for the Associated Students of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and was instrumental in bringing the ballot drop box to campus.

Unique History Opportunities

The Hanford History Project is an archive and curatorial repository focusing on the Hanford site and the Tri-Cities region. The project seeks to preserve and interpret the many stories, told and untold, that have shaped our region.
