An innovative scholarship initiative that combines monetary support with mentorship and experiential learning opportunities is ready to help students excel during their educational journey at Washington State University Tri-Cities.

Institute for Northwest Energy Futures (INEF)

The Washington State University Tri-Cities Institute for Northwest Energy Futures (INEF) is a new research center located on the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï campus to help address the increasing demands for resilient, affordable, and available low-carbon electricity and transportation fuels. The institute is also developing curriculum to support future workforce needs across various energy sectors.

With your support, INEF can continue it’s efforts in research, outreach educational and other activities, along with faculty & student assistance.

Chancellor’s Excellence Fund

The Chancellor’s Excellence Fund provides discretionary funds for the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï campus supporting the most current and compelling needs of our students and campus community. These funds provide resources for academic excellence, research, student support, and other key areas that support the Chancellor’s mission.ÌýÌý

Cougar Cupboard & Student Emergency Fund

Kenneth L. Reeves Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Kenneth L. Reeves Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to support a junior or senior at Washington State University Tri-Cities (Ken’s alma mater) who is majoring in the Environmental and Ecosystems Sciences program. Ken was an avid outdoorsman and prided himself a naturalist with a great respect for nature. He hiked Mount Whitney twice, loved fishing and boating, and enjoyed studying geology. Ken was certified by the State of Washington as a Master Gardener and was active with other Master Gardeners in Tri-Cities to better some of the area’s public parks and gardens. This scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to a student who shares his love of nature and pursue a career to helping improve and sustain the environment.

College of Engineering Development

Washington State University Tri-Cities School of Engineering and Applied SciencesÌýhas been upgrading major components of its engineering lab thanks to a generous $200,000 investmentÌýfrom Doug and Julia Hamrick.

ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Funds and Programs

Priority Funds

    • The principal of this fund shall be used to provide support for the Chancellor’s office at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and any emerging campus priorities or scholarships awarded at the discretion of the Chancellor.
    • The principal of this fund shall be used to provide emergency financial support for students in hardships.
    • Funds help purchase items that are not regularly received by donations and to maintain the Cougar Cupboard.
    • The Scholars Excellence fund provides student scholarships to any major at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï. This fund also supports the overall scholarship program, and the Annual Scholarship Recognition event.

College Development Funds

    • Provides support to the Bioproducts, Sciences, and Engineering Laboratory (BSEL) on campus. This includes research, faculty support, and graduate research studies. Ìý
    • Provides support for students and faculty within Environmental Engineering program.Ìý
    • Provides support for students and faculty within the Business program at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï.Ìý
    • Provides support for the overall Engineering program on the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï campus.
    • Provides support for artistic and cultural events (and their related facilities) sponsored in full or in part by ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï. ÌýThis includes, but is not limited to, exhibitions, performances, lectures and other fine arts and cultural programming.
    • Provides support for students and faculty within the Education program at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï.Ìý
    • Provides overall support for the Civil Engineering program on the Tri-Cities campus.Ìý
    • Provides support for lab equipment and supplies which will help maintain and enhance instruction in any Electrical Engineering laboratory courses on the Tri-Cities campus. This could include supporting part-time Engineering students to maintain the lab infrastructure. Ìý
    • Provides support for the overall Liberal Arts program on the Tri-Cities campus. Ìý
    • Provides support for students and faculty within the Mechanical Engineering program on the Tri-Cities campus. Ìý
    • Provides support for the overall College of Sciences program at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï. Ìý
    • Provides support for programs and activities within the Student Affairs Department. This includes student services that support student success, including but not limited to, such services as counseling, advising, mentoring, tutoring, staff professional development, and any other services necessary for the success of students at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï. Ìý

Program Funds

    • Provides support for student leadership, clubs, and other student activities on the Tri-Cities campus.
    • Provides overall support for the library at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï.ÌýÌý
    • Provides support for the development, acquisition and preservation of Hanford Oral History Collections.Ìý
    • Provides support in preserving and interpreting Hanford’s historical legacies which may include, but is not limited to student research, engaging in outreach, and support of internship opportunities.
    • Provides support for INEF with its efforts in research, student and faculty support, along with outreach and community activities.
    • Supports the Wine Science Center and the Viticulture and Enology programs offered at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï.
    • Provides support for programs that further engage with our community and alumni in support of enhancing the presence of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï within our region.
    • Provides support for enhancing student experiences at the MOSAIC Center by supporting activities, workshops, guest speakers and other services that provide awareness with building and culturally-affirming programming for student success.
    • Supports the research and other costs associated with Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) within Bioproducts, Science, and Engineering Laboratories (BSEL) on the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï campus.
    • Provides support for undergraduate research opportunities for students attending ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï.ÌýÌý
    • Provides support to Veteran students and the Veterans program on the Tri-Cities campus.
    • Supports experiential learning in the Department of Viticulture and Enology on the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï campus.
    • Supports our Viticulture and Enology students in need, in the areas of their cost of attendance, research, professional development, employing students, and any other costs associated with education.
