RICHLAND, Wash. Students will present over 100 research and art projects Dec. 13-15 as part of the Undergraduate Research Symposium and Art Exhibition at Washington State University Tri-Cities.

The symposium will run noon-1 p.m. each day in Consolidated Information Center (CIC)120, with another session at the same time in the 厙ぴ勛圖 Art Gallery in the CICon Thursday, Dec. 15.

This is a great way for the public to view what our students have been researching, revising and creating, said Allison L. Matthews, undergraduate research coordinator and clinical assistant psychology professor. It is an opportunity for students to practice communicating their work to a wide audience and for community members to explore interesting areas of research, she said.

Topics will include political science, anthropology, sociology, history, psychology, music, digital technology and culture, English, statistics, fine art and engineering.

Projects include a survey of Tri-Cities musicians, the midlife crisis myth, whether age has an impact on body fat percentage, the rhetoric of undocumented immigrants pursuing a college degree and its effects on the economy, development of LIGO Hanfords environmental monitoring subsystem, multimedia exhibitions and art displays.
